It's time to talk

This Month sees Cancer Talk Week taking place (23rd - 29th January) and we are helping Macmillan to get people talking about cancer. The 'C' word needn't be difficult to talk about so get sharing your experiences and concerns and it may help you feel more supported.

Jeannie Wilkinson, a Macmillan-funded Relate counsellor, says:

"It is important that, when going through something tough, like a cancer diagnosis and treatment, you can speak openly about what you're going through to ensure you get the right support you need. We meet a lot of patients and people caring for someone with cancer who feel like they need to be 'strong' and bottle up their emotions. This causes great strain on relationships."

To talk to someone impartial or for advice on how to talk to your friends and family, the Macmillan team can always help with those difficult conversations.

As they say, a problem shared is a problem halved. Macmillan can help you find the words you need.
